More great tools in here! Sending you big hugs from over here. Our health is a lot to deal with alone, but the state of the world right now is just, wow. It's so much. I've also fallen off the meditating too and the times when I fall out of my wind down routine, I feel so much worse. So you definitely have company in that boat. Thanks for shedding light on just how important habits can be right now (and also not beating ourselves too much if we falter, as outlined in your newer post 😊)
So many things! Happy belated birthday, congratulations on the podcast about asking for help, and I love that you crafted an emotionally intelligent structure for readers to come back from burnout!
Gem of a piece, Chris! I appreciate your honesty here and real-life breakdown. I can relate to so many of these! My habits have gone haywire the last couple of months and I'm really feeling it. I've downloaded your template (what are you talking about?! It's a masterpiece. Simple, easy to follow, effective 👌🏼) and can't wait to get back on track. We should start an accountability thread or something haha
If there was an award for "fast fling back into bad habits" I would win the gold every time.
The habits aren't a cure-all but they sure as hell dull the frantic thoughts + allow me to be present enough to enjoy moments of my day.
I just can't seem to escape this capitalist MORE, MORE, MORE mentality for good... it keeps clawing it's way back into my thoughts + behaviors, and it's destroying my body + robbing me of so much happiness.
You're not alone, brotha! I SEE YOU + I'll hold any space you need, any time. THESE are the kinds of conversations I'm craving right now. 🫶
Haha no worries! Just the fact that you thought of my lessons makes me feel like mission accomplished so thanks for that! This is a really good post. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Sorry to have to break it to you, BUT you're human, and prone to goof up. We all do. When we learn better, we often do better. The School of Life provides a mulitude of lessons, rarely gently.
In the meanwhile, treat yourself as you would a dear friend, with kindness and compassion.
Happy to read you are back on the track that works for you. Consider yourself hugged, if I may, virtually?

Thanks Jackie!

Thank you! See, I am paying attention! :)

Thanks Ruhie! I am all for accountability, so I'm down for that. If I ever start a Substack chat that might be one of the prompts...

Thanks Dre! I hear you on "more". I am still in search of the elusive shutoff valve every day.

I associate you with water now, which I guess is a good thing? I can think of worse things to be associated with 😂
Hahaha yes, definitely a good thing I'd say too! I'm taking it as a compliment. 💃🏻💃🏻
It is!

Thank you! Virtual hugs are always welcome.
