Congrats Chris! As a person who is new to Substack you articulated a lot of the feelings I was struggling with before I ultimately decided to jump in and launch. I'm still feeling things out and I'm sure there will be mistakes made in the process but as long as I grow and learn that's ok. Thanks for the inspiration as I hope to have a similar two year update.

Those pesky unsubscribe emails! I’m so glad you turned them off. I wrote on medium before I came over to substack and I honestly think it’s such an evolution. You are doing so well and I love getting to be part of the book journey.

Thank you for your newsletter. It resonates with me. Twelve months ago I started on Substack. But didn't write that much. Only since last week, after the Universe gave me a hart to miss reminder about my dream, am I writing daily. And I agree, practice makes perfet. And being consistance helps to. 🙏

Incredible milestone Chris - so happy for you! As someone who came across your substack when I was just starting out (and appreciates your support to smaller publications like mine), it warms my heart to see your success, and to see how your writing has gone from strength to strength!

Happy 2 year anniversary my friend! So grateful for you and for your words. I think this was the best subject line for a Substack post too. You hit the nail on the head with how great of a community it is here. As someone else whose social life has dwindled, I was amazed at how supportive of a place Substack is and how many new people I connected with who understand exactly what I'm going through. I've honestly never looked at my metrics but I want to look at the state breakdown now to see if anyone is boycotting me 😂 I'm admittedly a little terrified of getting too many followers and having people troll me (especially since I can be pretty outspoken about some things), but you've given me hope I can deal with it. I can't believe someone called you a lazy dope for using Grammarly. Geez.

Thanks Jackie! I'm glad you migrated over here and found so many great connections.

The lazy dope guy clearly was an outlier so I just ignored him. His comment history on other notes was the same thing. Just sounded like a miserable person.

“My disease has taken so much from me. But in a way, it’s also given me a future.”

YES! I remind myself of that frequently when I get down about everything I have lost.
