Well, this is an amazingly informative piece, first of all. Wow The Salomon's paradox! I hadn't heard of it but I've heard of that concept/idea/practice somehow, yet never as clearly as this. This is something I feel like I want to write down on a post-it note and have it on my night table or my mirror, so that I can access it quickly and easily every time needed. Seriously, magic.

And I'm humbled by your mention, thank you so much! I'm finding the feedback from every lesson being huge and positive! And it's motivating me even more. It's exciting to realise that what you share has meaningful value. And so I want to reassure you if the same. I find your newsletter and your overall topic on how to sail through adversity, resilience, personal experiences, psychological knowledge and deep dives to be utterly important. I'm so happy and glad we're connected in this space.

Thank you, Christopher!

Is it a thing now? I've sat on the sidelines but if it seems that people are actually using it, I might try it out.

It's so much better than Instagram. Links, for one thing. Words, for another. xo

Absolutely love the idea of navigating Solomon's paradox by putting yourself at arm's length and pretending you're your own best friend! I give great advice that I'm horrible at taking, so this sounds like just the ticket. 😂 I'm thrilled it worked so effectively for you!

Ha well I don't know how effective it's been but I'm certainly trying!

Instagram is my weakness too. Definitely might have to give that one sec app a try. I'm usually pretty successful at staying off my personal page when I set that goal but then people send me messages and I go to read them and that sucks me back in. Still very much considering deactivating that one and only keeping the one for this page but we'll see. Thanks always for the helpful tips!

Hi Christopher. Many many thanks for the shout out. I’m so glad you’ve found the app useful. It’s literally saved me so much time wasted on social media.

I also loved you voice recording. I missed your post about it but your helpful link in this edition took me there. It’s something I’ve been considering too for Never Stop Learning. I worry I’m becoming a little lost with the newsletter these past few weeks so it could give it a little boost.

I also like how you structure your posts and signpost that nicely up front. I’ve listened to an interesting podcast about newsletters this week. They suggested a third of people get past the first 100 words and most don’t get past 400 words. So, I’m thinking of maybe shortening my posts and putting out two a week instead of one larger one. What do you think?

Hi Martin,

Happy to share, and thanks for making me aware of one sec.

What I like about your site is that you write about what interests you, and I always find that useful. It was your site where I also learned about Ali Abdaal. I think if you ever feel lost, just returning to what you find interesting or worth sharing has tremendous value.

What was the podcast you listened to? I'd be curious to hear it. Those stats do sound reasonable. I feel like people get so many emails nowadays that they open, quickly scan, and if they aren't hooked early they will move on or save to a read later app. I do this a lot actually - I scan the article, see if it's something worth saving, then save it to Reader to read in depth at a later time.

I feel like your posts are a good length. I never feel like you are rambling on. (Which I can't say about a lot of sites!) I started doing the signposts based on a piece of advice I received from a reader. I think it works well for posts where the writer is sharing different links or talking about multiple subjects, such as in a roundup post. As opposed to an essay.
