How do I celebrate small wins? My favorite go-to -- I said this would be nerdy -- is playing Immaculate Grid. https://www.immaculategrid.com/. I love baseball so this is a never-ending source of enjoyment. Since this refreshes once per day, I also like to browse the Amazon best-seller lists and see if any Kindle books are on sale.
I agree that celebrating small wins is very important, and so is doing something fun every day. And I can’t thank you enough for sharing the llama video! Watching it made my day.
The llama in the tuxedo though 😂 Work is really busy right now so I’m going to some of the extra money I get from putting in overtime to treat myself to my favorite meal via food delivery. I also have to get a crown on my teeth next week so need everything I can to look forward to!
That is an excellent question. Depends on my mood but there’s a Thai place I really like out here (green curry and crab rangoon all the way) and also a birria-style Mexican place that has the best (and most giant) burrito I’ve ever had. Those are my top two for sure.
I snickered imagining Collegiate Chris tipsily checking off “go to bar” from his to-do list. 😂
On that subject: champagne is *totally* called for as a reward for making doctors’ appointments. Signed, someone who very belatedly set up healthcare provider relationships in her not-so-new city (OMG, it took forever to navigate).
My small reward this upcoming week? Taking myself to a bakery for breakfast and coffee. Sure, I can always make oatmeal at home, but a properly-executed apple crisp muffin is *chef’s kiss.*
This is full of great sections, between finding ways to celebrate the small (and big) wins, the “busyness” we all suffer, and of course , the llama!! My God he’s just so cute!!!
That busyness article walloped me upside the head. Lots of food for thought, though it’s so hard to figure out how to change it all. We’re part of an ecosystem, and without changing the ecosystem or leaving it, I don’t know how we change at a micro level
It isn't an ideal solution but I've found that blocking off time on my calendar to take a break helps me. It has to be a few hours to make it worthwhile, as it takes some time to fully unwind.
Although the reason it has to be a calendar block in the first place proves his point....it is a struggle for sure!

Loved the Dr. Edith Eger quote Chris, she’s my hero and an inspiration for sure!
It's great!

Apple crisp muffins are amazing.

I’ve always been challenged at organization. Good ideas here.
