Echoing everyone else here: I'm so happy that you were able to attend this event; it was clearly meaningful on many different levels. But I'm also really appreciative that you shared the specific details of what it took to show up: the challenges involved, and the strategies you and your parents used to address them. I know I'm going to learn a lot from this "Resilience in Action" series, so thank you for writing it!
Hi Chris! So happy that you went to Philly despite all the challenges. I understand it’s highly inconvenient and physically taxing, but you’re so right about “pain is temporary but memories last forever”. I think our minds tend to develop amnesia to pain and trauma over time. I’m always rooting for your success!
That sounds like such an awesome trip and event, Chris. So glad you went (and shared it with us). And I'm SO asking about the trip home! Glad you made it back safe. xo
I am so glad you went, Chris! How cool to know they were MDA camp counselors and have kept MDA families and friends at the front of their acts of kindness in service to others. I appreciated reading about the logistics, as I share similar anxiety about the stages of getting anywhere for anything. I hope you’re rested up after your trip and I look forward to your next post! You provide such practical, helpful information to this anxious mom.
Amazing post. At risk of sounding like a teenager: RESPECT, man! 🙌 So glad you went.
'Resilience in Action' is such a great idea for a series. I thoroughly enjoy your writing, Chris.
Thanks Rebecca!

Thanks Maddie! It became a series last night when I thought "this might make a good series...." then added a quick author's note :)
Pretty sure that’s how all the best series get started! (Speaking from personal experience, ha!! 😜)

Thanks Wen! I'm really glad I went. I think the FOMO would have been worse than any temporary discomfort from the trip.

Traffic. So much traffic. Connecticut was a parking lot. *neck tenses*
So sorry. As a person in LA, I know that Hell well. xo
