I’m glad you reposted this piece, because I hadn’t yet read it...and was nodding along with every word. 🔥

It’s funny that you were simply trying to *get through* your first public attempt at storytelling, only to find that you loved it. People, myself included, tend to think about the worst-case scenario (potentially making a fool of oneself) without considering the possible upside (surprising yourself by actually enjoying the experience, or making new connections!) when it comes to sharing more of themselves publicly.

Thanks Maddie! It is an acquired skill for sure. Doesn't come easy, but now, I'm so used to it that I don't give it second thought. That said, I am not an oversharer. I just try to share what's useful (and interesting!).

I have the rare skill of making the audience laugh and also making one person cry a lot. Even when I try to be funny.

You've definitely motivated me to keep telling my story, especially when I felt like I was silly to keep doing so. And you played a huge part in my deciding to switch over to Substack, which I love. Looking forward to hearing your life update in next week's post!
