Love this - just recently finished that Goggins book. The cookie jar was a big takeaway for me and I am encouraging others I know to use it when faced with doubt and lack of confidence. Cheers for the reminder.

I love the idea of a compliment sandwich. By having these compliments and good wishes accessible, that can become a great pick me up for dark days, thanks for sharing.

This was another impactful piece for me. These are strategies that I try and hold to but not in such a formalised fun way. Thank you for sharing. I will implement them immediately. I particularly took note of the perspective of a compliment sandwich not being about ego but gaining confidence and encouragement from how others perceive you. And cookies are delicious, however being Australian I might have to call mine a biscuit jar 😉

Thanks Leanne! I am a biscuit fan too. What is your favorite kind?

Not to minimize this really lovely technique, one that I'm very appreciative to have learned about from you, but: WHAT KIND OF COOKIE

If you are asking me to name my favorite cookie, dark chocolate Milanos. Or thin mints. Or....both.

Have to agree with Sandra...I very much want a sandwich and a cookie right now 😂 Really appreciate that your posts often have something that’s actionable in them...something that’s easily actionable too. Definitely going to try implement these in my life more as a frequent negative thinker myself.

I love these ideas - and particularly your qualification at the end that these are corrective measures, and not aimless ego-boosting! I hope you explore the value of giving more in another piece - the footnote was not enough for my appetite!!!!

So much of our struggle is a mental one, often unrecognized. Good points about purposeful redirection. It’s good to have such vivid word pictures to use.
